The recovery of an Irish man who was suffering from depression and was in a wheelchair has been the product of a combination of medical marijuana and cannabis oil, it has emerged.
The 25-year-old, who was also recovering from an aggressive form of cancer, was treated at the Italian university of Milan with the help of a specialist who used cannabis oil.
“The cannabis oil helped him feel better and allowed him to sleep better,” his friend, Francesca Pascatelli, told the Irish Times.
“He also got a lot of positive energy and felt very positive.”
The young man had a tumour removed from his back in 2015.
He had been diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer and was told by doctors he was at high risk of dying if left untreated.
His recovery was not complete and he was put on chemotherapy but, despite a range of treatments and treatments in the form of radiotherapy, the condition returned and, at the end of last year, he was told that he was in good enough shape to go home to his family.
After speaking to his mother and his sister, he decided to try cannabis oil to help him sleep and relax.
He went to a clinic in the southern Italian city of Genoa and received a prescription from the local hospital.
He was told the oil was very good for him and that he could take it every day for five weeks.
His mother, who is also a nurse, said: “I felt so relieved when I opened the bottle of the cannabis oil and was able to relax.
I felt that the cancer had gone away, I felt at peace.”
After taking a few capsules a day, the young man said he felt better and had a good appetite.
He also had better sleep.
When he started taking the cannabis daily he also noticed an improvement in his mood and energy levels.
He was also able to communicate with other patients in his care.
“He used to be really angry and he would have a bad temper, but now he is very kind and supportive,” his sister Francesca said.
“This is the result of using the cannabis.”
“He had a lot to live for, but the cannabis is now helping him get through it.”
Dr Marcello Di Caravaggio, who has treated patients with cancer, told The Irish News that cannabis oil is “a very effective treatment” for patients who are in a severe state of illness.
“There are many medical problems that can cause depression and some of these problems are related to the disease itself, but cannabis helps the patients feel better.”
Cannabis oil has been shown to be very effective at treating patients with depression, so that’s a very good thing.
“Dr Di Caragio said that cannabis can also be used to relieve nausea and vomiting, and can reduce anxiety.
The young Irishman has now returned to work and is now working towards his first degree and is planning to study to become a nurse.
